Top 150 from 2010: The Next 75

The list of 75 songs below comprises the second MP3 disc I put together to celebrate the 150 Best Songs, or Top Artists, or simply the most representative music of my 2010. As with the first MP3 disc of 75 songs, they are not in any order of personal preference, but they have been sequenced to reflect musical and lyrical moods, from K. Flay’s equally explicit apparent response to Cee-Lo Green, through to the Glimmers’ sample of Killing Joke in their dancefloor epic closed out by the comeback (and what an unforgiving comeback) of the real thing.

I already know that there are dozens of artists and songs I have missed in this compilation; it would only take another week or so of sorting through the music that came my way last year and this could easily have been a Top 200. So rather than reminding me of any omissions, why not have a rummage through the list and follow up on some of those artists and songs you don’t know. The need to supply a link to a label or artist page doesn’t seem necessary the way it was when I first set up iJamming! back in the year 2000, in what I believe may have been the pre-Google years; I’m sure you can find your own way to the music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

    Hi Tony,

Currently making a documentary tracing the evolution of New York music in the late 60s and 1970s from the Velvets to No-Wave, and am trying to contact you regarding a potential interview. Couldn’t find an e-mail on your site, so could you possibly e-mail me at the above address if you’re interested? We’re UK based but heading to the US at the start of February.
