from the jamming! vaults:
a 1978 interview with
MARK PERRY and Alternative TV
Guess who got a Scanner for Xmas? Take these reprinted pages as seriously as you want to. Consider them Information Overload, vital post-punk history, or just enjoy them as I do - for their naive charm. Anyway, this is how I used to type out my interview manuscripts. For some reason, I held onto them. Now, with the Internet, I know why: because there would one day be a chance to re-use them. You might glean some useful insight into the minds of a 14-year old fanzine writer (that's me) and a 21-year old ex-fanzine writer come musician (that's Mark Perry, interviewed alongside Dennis Burns) by reading these eight pages. Then again, you might not.

(The edited interview of this transcript was printed in Jamming! 6, alongside interviews with Pete Townshend, Tom Robinson, Scritti Politti and the Rezillos. Click here for the 2001 Interview with Mark Perry, and here for a review of the Sniffin' Glue book.)
