A Light That Never Goes Out. Goes on tour.
I am happy to announce two book events in the UK this November. Expect some radio appearances to coincide.
WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 21ST, at the BRITISH MUSIC EXPERIENCE, GREENWICH, LONDON. 7:30pm:
A Light That Never Goes Out: The Legacy of the Smiths
Join biographer Tony Fletcher, record producer Stephen Street, and touring sound engineer Grant Showbiz for a panel discussion hosted by broadcaster Steve Lamacq, about the performances, the personalities, and the politics of The Smiths. Why were they the most important band of the 1980s? And why does their music mean as much to us now as it did back then?

MONDAY NOVEMBER 26TH, at WATERSTONES, DEANSGATE, MANCHESTER. 7pm.
Tony Fletcher and Tom Hingley will be discussing Manchester and music, and reading from their new books, A Light That Never Goes Out: The Enduring Saga of the Smiths and Carpet Burns: My Life With Inspiral Carpets.

I look forward to seeing many of my old friends and making some new ones at these events.
The poster below is apparently up in HMV windows across the UK. Cool.
