Dig the New Digs
This is the inaugural post from my new office and home; I closed out of my Phoenicia place this morning and, while it will take the family most of the summer to move the house down from Hunter, so that we are finally all in one building again, I officially have myself a new workspace, and with a pretty astounding view. (Thanks to iJamming! pubber Jimmy B for helping with the move over the weekend.)
Time Warner just connected the cable (again), the electricity, water and wireless internet are all running and so, as all music lovers will know from experience, the only thing left to make myself officially at home is to connect up the music system and test it at full volume. Having just done so, I’m pleased to say my 17-year old Onkyo CD deck, 10-year old Tannoy Reveal monitors and 1-year new NAD amplifier are delivering crystal-clear sound all the way to the next town. Actually, the next town is only about 200 feet over, so that’s not too hard to achieve – but not too big a concern either, given the almost total lack of neighbors.
I celebrated this moment in two ways: one, by taking a picture of the hopefully permanently pristine view from my definitely temporarily pristine desk; the other, by playing what may well be, on a given day like today, my favorite song in the whole wide world. If you can guess what that is, pop into the iJamming! Pub, and I’ll stand you a housewarming drink… Cheers!
