Noel Sings Gustafer
Anybody who lives close to us knows that our 7-year old Noel takes his guitar everywhere, singing and playing his way through the Gustafer Yellowgold catalogue. Along the way, we’d gathered together so many different shots of the Gustafer song “Getting in a Treetop” that as an initial school holiday project, it wasn’t that hard to film a couple more on Monday, splice them together on iMovie and upload Noel’s first proper video. Special effects chosen by Noel.
For those who don’t know Gustafer Yellowgold, the music and visuals are heartily recommended for all children of all ages (including us adults and our inner kids). Check out Gustafer’s web site here, and order up one of the CD/DVDs. New release Year In The Day has the additional advantage of being conceptual. Gustafer’s creator, Morgan Taylor, takes the character on the road and will be in Woodstock NY this Thursday June 28, performing for free at the Public Library. Considering that he has risen to the level of playing New York’s Symphony Space with the Chelsea Symphony Orchestra, this is a seriously cool freebie. You know that Noel will be there. And I’ll be there with him. Below: Gustafer Yellowgold himself sings “Getting in a Treetop.”
Noel has his first publicly advertised concert coming up on Saturday July 21st, when he’ll be performing on the Woodstock Village Green at 5pm, followed by a rare public appearance by the Catskill 45s, who will be playing a set exclusively from 45 calendar years ago, 1967. That event, too, is free.
