Well, she did it! Posie ran the New York City Marathon. She ran at the same steady pace throughout, which takes some doing. And she ran with a smile on her face throughout – or at least at the points that we caught her en route. She’s even walking today, which is more than a lot of people will be managing. We’re all very proud of her.
Yesterday was Posie’s first Marathon as a runner, though she came out to support me three years in a row from 2002-2004. And yesterday, conversely, though I’ve run 5 Marathons in all, was my first time “running” the support team. Though you don’t have train to be your spouse’s supporter, the day is pretty damn hard in and of itself – especially when you’re doing a 300-mile round-trip journey with a toddler and an 11-year old in town. We’re both completely beat from the long day, so I’ll catch up with everyone at iJamming! in more detail tomorrow. Here’s to sanity!
