September 11: The American Dream

The theme of Burning Man this year was the American Dream, which makes today, September 11, an appropriate time to start sharing some pictures from our visit to Burning Man, from which we returned just a week ago. My own American Dream is both represented by and realized at Burning Man, more of which in another post. My gratitude to all the wonderful artists who were able to visualize their own interpretation of the American Dream – positive, negative or somewhere inbetween – and bring it out to the desert to share with us. My thoughts remain with all the families that suffered on September 11 – and those that continue to suffer around the world. Peace.

I think you should put “was” in all caps not “than”. It WAS better than last year.

    Hi Sandra

It’s a funny thing – when you put an emphasis on a word, it often seems like you could as easily have put it somewhere else too. But I wanted to emphasise the word that is missing from the usual phrase, and if you look at the newer post, and the picture from the Museum of It Was Better LAST Year, you’ll see why I went with what I did. But thanks for the comment!

Actually, once I looked at the picture I realized the emphasis had been given for me, so changed it: It was better THIS year. There you go.
