South London, La La La

…Or maybe the header should be ‘Going Up In The World’? Because I don’t remember the cars in West Norwood being quite so upscale back when I lived on these streets.

Yep, I’ve come back to the old ‘hood for the first time in a few years, and it’s actually quite nice to be here. But something I also keep failing to remember about London… Once you’re out of the main industrial and work areas, it’s so bloody quiet. Like, there is no noise. None. I got off the plane this morning, came to my friend’s place in West Norwood, went to put my head down for a few hours and it was so quiet I couldn’t sleep. Only when someone finally started up a lawn mower could I convince myself that I was in the land of the living and finally get some sleep.

….Hopefully, my next post won’t be quite so jetlagged.

you must be jetlagged Tony if you think a fifteen year old Rover is ‘upscale’. I’ll give you a hundred quid for it. Seriously. An ageing Volvo, a Peugeot 307, what looks like a tired Mazda MX5/Miata- that must be the most down market street in London. This is Britain, where the best selling car is a BMW and I can’t see one.
Still, we might need to move. How cheap can it be?
