Springtime in New York

At lunch Friday with a magazine editor friend who has a place in Phoenicia, I was asked why I would want to spend a beautiful spring weekend in NY City when I could be in the Catskills. He had a point. But these were some of the things I could not have done at home over the last 72 hours:

Taking in a Brian Eno installation in midtown, proper record shopping in the Village, fantastic vegan dinner at M.O.B. on Atlantic Avenue, the Johnny Marr show in Williamsburg (joined by Andy Rourke for an encore of ‘How Soon Is Now?’), the Farmers’ Market at Prospect Park (OK, I can get my Bread Alone bread from the source, but not Body & Soul’s vegan fare), Albarinho by the glass in Billyburg, a superb charity wine event at Le Du’s in the far West Village followed by impromptu drinks with new friends afterwards, DJing at a friend’s annual Cinqo de Mayo party in Boerum Hill that carried on till the wee hours, running in Prospect Park (though I prefer it in the Catskills, to be honest), and Sunday afternoon Cinqo de Mayo Mexican drinks & food on a Harlem rooftop. Plus, the bus to NYC goes from the end of my Catskills street.

I’m glad we moved out of New York City, at the right time and to the right place in our lives. But there’s still nowhere like it. Below: a gallery of spring time snaps.

Hi Nataliya, Many nurses come to live and work in Australia and NZ every year. Whether or not you are eliilbge comes down to a number of factors. Qualifications and where they were attained and experience. What is it you are looking for and what are you qualifications and experience and in what country were they attained?ThanksTony
