The Catskill 45s Ride Again

After the success of our 45th birthday party last year, we revived the idea, and the band, for a repeat party this past Saturday, at which we played music exclusively from 45 years ago. Was 1965 the greatest year ever for music? An argument could definitely be made. The set-list was but a small reflection of the music made that year.
Mr Tambourine Man
Buckaroo
King of the Road
Midnight Hour
Stop in the Name of Love
Over and Over
Day Tripper
The Name Game
I Want Candy
Tired of Waiting
Do You Believe in Magic
Tide Is High
The Kids Are Alright
Like A Rolling Stone

As I discovered from putting together the DJ music for the rest of the evening, you could play great 45s from 1965 all night long. In fact, we did. 45 is the new 33!!

(The Catskill 45s feature Robert Warren aka Uncle Rock, Josh Brown, Mark Lerner, Nancy Howell, 15-year old Lukas Lerner on drums, Tony Fletcher, Holly George Warren and Michelle Brown on Supremes backing vocals, and for the song shown above, The Kids Are Alright, Pat on accordion – who was in Rogue’s March, 17 years ago to the night, when he played at our wedding in New Hope, PA. Yep, Saturday was our Anniversary as well. What better way to celebrate.)

Cheers all – we’re off to the beach for a few days. Will post if I feel like it.
