They Also Served

Over the holiday period, I had a chance to reflect and realize just what a great year 2007 was for music. Admittedly, I heard/bought/acquired less albums than usual, but that was more than compensated for by the amount of great songs that came my way from literally hundreds of fine artists through Podcasts, radio, e-mail, snail mail, websites, television, and live shows. As we head into 2008 and hopefully an equally fine year for music, it would seem remiss if I didn’t name some of the many acts that turned me on in 2007 – other than those I’ve already listed in my Top 10 Albums/ Songs/ Concerts of the Year. Thanks to all of them – and to the dozens more I may have inadvertently missed out upon or merely did not get around to hearing. And yes, band names are indeed a wonderful thing.
