Who said New York City is turning into a theme park?
From Time Out’s “Too New To Review” section, Nov 2 issue.
A “hidden haven… on the Lower East Side, with Prohibition-era cocktails (served in tea cups) and beers in brown bags… Average drink: $9.”
(You can just hear the conversation in the back office of the Back Room: “Prohibition prices? Sorry, I thought you said make them prohibitive prices!”)
Though at least they’re cheaper than this place….
“A bar dedicated to the break-dance scene of the 1980s. You’ll find a graffiti mural, vintage Walkmans, boom boxes abnd, of course, nonstop DJs. Average drink: $10.”
Why would CBGB need to even think of moving to Las Vegas? We may as well just move Las Vegas to NYC.
